Getting Started in Shady Job
Wishlist, specs, crew size, and the first-session loop.
Shady Job is a 1–4 player online co-op physics adventure from GAZE IN GAMES, the studio behind HELLMART. Steam also writes the title as Shady job. You are construction workers on an unfinished skyscraper. The mafia hired you to carry a body bag to the roof and bury it in concrete. Two problems: you have to build the way up, and the body is not dead. It wants out.
This page is the day-one brief for crews who have not clocked in yet. The Steam launch is September 10, 2026. Playtests ended August 31, 2026, so do not wait for another invite wave. Wishlist the store page, check the PC, agree on a party size, then run the grab-build-climb-bury loop until it is muscle memory.
Wishlist and launch window
Add Shady Job on Steam (app 4190710) so you get the unlock ping. Price is not listed yet; do not budget a guessed number. Steam lists Online Co-Op, Steam Achievements, and Family Sharing. It does not list local split-screen. Interface languages on the store start with English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish (Spain) and run to 15 total; Automaton reports Japanese UI as well. This wiki covers English, French, German, and Spanish.
For the calendar, waves, and what is still unannounced, use the release date page and the launch checklist. Patch tracking after unlock lives under updates.
Check the PC before the crew piles in
Minimum: Windows 10, Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 8 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or Radeon RX 560, DirectX 12, 10 GB storage. Recommended: Windows 11, Intel Core i5-8600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, 16 GB RAM, GeForce RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6600 XT, DirectX 12, 10 GB. Both lines require a 64-bit processor and OS. Compare your box on system requirements instead of discovering a GPU warning in the lobby.
Crew size
Steam lists 1–4 player online co-op. One person can clock in. Four is the cap. The pitch is built around a crew that splits carry, build, and rescue, so a three- or four-stack is the intended noise level. There is no listed couch split-screen; everyone needs their own PC and a Steam session. How you host at launch should be confirmed in-game — do not copy a bind from another title. Playtest invite rules (random Steam invites, up to three friends who have been on your list 30+ days, survey in the menu) are history now; they are recorded on the playtest recap and the co-op page so you know what already shipped in tests.
Assign jobs before the bag moves. One carrier, one builder, one plunger lookout, and a floater if you have a fourth. The squad planner and roles page exist for that argument. Do not all grab the bag at once.
First-session loop: grab, build, climb, bury
Treat the first hour as one loop, not a tour.
Grab. Find the black taped cargo. Official shots show cartoon hard-hat workers and a bag that is clearly a physics object, not a scripted cutscene prop. Pick it up as a crew, not as a tug-of-war. If it starts struggling, you are already in the body bag problem: it escapes, breaks structures, and pushes people off ledges, and it gets more aggressive if you handle it roughly.
Build. The roof is not connected. You create unstable bridges with building blocks. One mistake can destroy the entire structure. Look for cranes and moving platforms before you dump a span into a deadly drop. Destructible walls and windows are legal shortcuts. Floor numbers get painted on walls — shots show 13 — so call floors out loud. Toilets, barrels, and other physics props can become ramps if you are honest about collapse risk. The building guide is the longer version of this paragraph.
Climb. The Plunger Gun is how you stick to unfinished concrete, yank the bag back when it lunges, and pull a teammate who just walked off a plank. On-screen prompts in official shots read SHOOT, PULL / RELEASE, and DROP. Do not invent extra mouse binds; open controls for the HUD (green bar, slots 1 and 2) and confirm keys in settings at launch. Screenshots also show a SANDWICH and an INDUSTRIAL FAN in those slots. Effects are still being catalogued pre-launch; do not plan a loadout around guessed numbers.
Bury. The job is not done when you reach a high ledge with a view of the city, the cranes, and the giant golden statue. You still have to get the bag into the concrete at the top. The walkthrough covers Level 1 loop strategy and what playtest Level 2 added, without fake room-by-room puzzles. If a press screenshot froze a teammate in ice (nametag Valentine in one shot), treat ice and electric floors as real site hazards, not jokes.
What to read next
The Guides Hub maps every how-to. After one clean loop, split the reading. Carrier: body bag. Builder: building. Rescuer: Plunger Gun. Caller: co-op plus walkthrough. If you still need a vibe check rather than a procedure, the preview is a first look from trailer and press, not a scored review. Keep patch notes and official links open around launch week.
The first session fails in predictable ways: nobody built ahead of the bag, somebody slammed the cargo, or a fall happened with no plunger on the ledge. Fix the procedure, then clock in again. The site does not grade style points.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
When does Shady Job unlock on Steam?
The Steam launch is **September 10, 2026**. Playtests ended August 31, 2026. See the release date page for platforms and what is still unlisted, including price.
Can I play Shady Job solo?
Steam lists 1–4 player **online co-op**, so a single player can clock in. The design still assumes a crew. Read co-op before you lock a party size.
What should we do in the first session?
Grab the bag, build a path, climb and rescue, then bury the cargo on the roof. The walkthrough is the route version of that loop.
Will this PC run Shady Job?
Minimum is Windows 10, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX 1050 Ti or RX 560 class GPU. Recommended steps up to an RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT. Full lines are on system requirements.
Where are the HUD and Plunger Gun prompts documented?
On the controls page. It covers the green bar, slots 1 and 2, and Shoot / Pull-Release / Drop. It does not invent keyboard binds.
What should we read after this beginner page?
Split body bag, building, and Plunger Gun by role, then skim the launch checklist.
