Shady Job Tier List Hub
Community role and strategy ranks for 2–4 player crews before the September 10, 2026 Steam launch.
This hub is the briefing room for Shady Job ranks. It does not grade secret classes, weapon DPS, or a hidden meta. GAZE IN GAMES did not publish official jobs. Carrier, Builder, Plunger, and Flex are unofficial player jobs that crews invent so someone owns the taped bag, someone builds the route, someone climbs and rescues, and someone watches ice, fans, and loose props.
Read the lists as pre-launch advice drawn from physics-chaos logic and playtest-era screenshots. Playtests ended on August 31, 2026. The Steam launch is September 10, 2026. Until live patches exist, treat every S/A/B label as a planning tool, not a balance bible. For how a session actually feels, start with Getting Started and the co-op guide.
What these ranks measure
Shady Job is a 1–4 player online co-op physics adventure. Steam does not list local split-screen. Your party either coordinates or the bag wins. Rankings in this hub ask one question: which job or approach reduces chaos for a crew of this size? They do not ask which character is strongest, because there are no named classes to unlock.
Two child pages split that question:
- Shady Job co-op roles ranks Carrier, Builder, Plunger, and Flex for 2-player, 3-player, and 4-player crews.
- Shady Job strategy tiers ranks bag-first versus path-first, gentle carry versus speed, plunger-yank highways versus walking the bag, and ice or hazard respect.
Use both. A perfect role split still fails if you bounce the Punchy Bag down a stairwell. A calm strategy still fails if nobody is building the next span.
How to read S, A, and B
S means the job or approach is load-bearing. Drop it and the run usually stalls. A means it pays for itself on most floors, especially when someone falls or the bag slips. B means it is real work, but a smaller crew should fold it into another job instead of staffing it full-time.
We stop at B on purpose. Pre-launch lists that invent C-tier dump stats or F-tier memes are noise. If a later patch notes drop changes bag aggression, crane timing, or Plunger Gun feel, this hub will move ranks — it will not pretend those patches already happened.
Party size changes the board
A duo cannot staff four jobs. A quartet can. That is why the roles list reprints the same four jobs three times instead of one global ladder.
- Two players: Carrier and Builder sit at the top. The second player also holds the Plunger Gun and watches hazards. Flex is overflow, not a seat.
- Three players: You can peel Plunger off the builder. Flex still shares a body with rescue or path work.
- Four players: Flex becomes a real seat. Spotting ice, calling Floor 13, thawing a route, and babysitting barrels finally has a pair of eyes that is not also laying blocks.
If you need names in voice chat tonight, skip the theory and open the squad planner. It turns these ranks into party templates and callouts.
What we refuse to rank
This wiki will not publish a character power ladder, a fake price-to-value chart, or invented item stats for HUD toys such as SANDWICH or INDUSTRIAL FAN. Screenshots show those names in slots 1 and 2, a green HUD bar, plunger prompts (SHOOT, PULL/RELEASE, DROP), ice freeze, and physics props such as a toilet and a barrel. That is evidence of systems, not a license to invent numbers.
We also will not rank “solo carry god” as if Shady Job were a PvP brawler. One player can start a session, but the Steam pitch is a crew hauling living cargo up an unfinished site. If you are shopping for a different kind of list, you want the walkthrough or the review, not this hub.
How the lists connect to the rest of the wiki
Role ranks assume you already know the toys. Carrier advice is useless without body bag handling. Builder ranks point at building — unstable blocks, collapse, cranes, platforms, broken walls and windows. Plunger ranks assume the Plunger Gun guide. Strategy ranks assume you have skimmed controls so on-screen plunger prompts are not a surprise.
When you are done ranking, close the loop with tools: system requirements if a friend is still on a 1050 Ti, and the launch checklist so wishlist, drivers, and mics are not the reason Floor 13 goes quiet. Official store and social links live on the links page. Timing context sits on the release date and playtest pages.
How to use this hub on launch week
Print the party-size table from the roles page. Circle one strategy from the strategy page (path-first plus gentle carry is the boring default for a reason). Assign seats in the squad planner. Then go play. If the bag starts punching the crew off ledges, you did not “lose the meta” — you handled cargo roughly, and the Punchy Bag nickname exists because the developers already told you that loop is the joke.
Come back after the first weekend with notes, not vibes. Which job sat idle. Which callout actually saved a drop. Which floor made ice more important than cranes. Those notes are how a pre-launch list earns a post-launch revision, and they are the only reason this hub exists instead of a decorative S-tier graphic.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Does Shady Job have official classes to rank?
No. Carrier, Builder, Plunger, and Flex are community jobs, not unlockable classes. Use them to split work, then confirm the split in the squad planner.
Are these power levels or PvP tiers?
Neither. The lists rank how much a job or approach reduces physics chaos in 2, 3, or 4 player online co-op. There is no character ladder to invest in.
Why publish ranks before September 10, 2026?
Crews need a shared language before launch night. Playtests ended August 31, 2026, so these ranks are briefing tools. They will move when patch notes exist.
Which child page should a new crew open first?
Open co-op roles if you still need seats. Open strategy tiers if seats are set and the argument is about pace, yanking, or ice.
Where do I assign names after I agree on ranks?
Use the squad planner for 2/3/4 player templates and callouts, and keep co-op open for how online parties actually behave.
