Shady Job Patch Notes
Playtest 1.3 / Level 2 is the only named update. After September 10, this page follows Steam news, not invented build IDs.
This is the Shady Job changelog desk, and it is almost empty on purpose. Today is September 3, 2026. The game still sits behind a Steam PC unlock on September 10, 2026. Playtests closed on August 31. The only named public update in that whole window is Playtest 1.3, the Wave 4 build that added Level 2 on August 14. Everything else you see in screenshots or voice chat is either the original 1.0/1.1 test client or an undocumented tweak this wiki will not turn into a fake patch ID.
If you wanted a version history that looks like a shipped live-service title, you are early. Come back after September 10. Until then, this page explains the sourcing rules, records the one named drop, and points launch lessons at the guides that already exist. The calendar lives on the Shady Job release date page. The wave-by-wave story lives on the Shady Job playtest recap. The rest of the launch desk is the Updates Hub.
How this wiki will log patches
After the Steam unlock, new rows on this page will come from Steam news for app 4190710, not from a Discord rumor or a truncated tweet. A valid entry needs a public post, a date, and a name or headline the studio actually used. We will quote the headline, summarize the player-facing changes, and link the official news hub from the links page.
We will not:
- Invent IDs such as 1.0.4, 1.03, or “day-one hotfix A.”
- Promote a content creator’s guess to a patch number.
- Copy HELLMART patch language onto Shady Job. Same studio, different store page.
- Pretend a playtest invite build is the live client.
If GAZE IN GAMES ships a silent Steam build with no news post, this page will say so in plain language: build changed, notes not published. Silence is a fact. Fabricating bullets to fill the silence is how wikis get people killed on a crane.
Studio socials can flag that a post exists. @GAZE_IN_GAMES is worth a follow. The changelog still waits for the Steam article, because tweets drop context and this page needs a durable source.
Named update: Playtest 1.3 / Level 2 (August 14, 2026)
Headline: Shady Job Playtest 1.3 — Wave 4 live, Level 2 is here.
Date: Friday, August 14, 2026.
What the studio named: a new level in the playtest, not a numbered list of bug fixes. Public posts did not attach a SteamDB-style change dump. This wiki will not invent one. The player-facing fact is that testers were asked to run Level 2 before the program ended on August 31.
What you should do with that fact at launch:
- Assume the job is not a single climb you can brute-force on muscle memory from a YouTube short.
- Put route planning on the walkthrough, not in this changelog.
- Keep a four-person role split from the squad planner and the roles tier list, because a second level punishes crews that only practiced one carry pattern.
Playtest 1.0 (July 24–31) and Playtest 1.1 (second wave around August 1) were named waves, not patch notes. They matter as access history. They do not get fake bullet lists here. If you need invite rules, friend-list limits, or the survey prompt, read the playtest page.
Playtest lessons that are not patch bullets
A changelog is a list of what the build did. A lesson is what crews should stop doing. The playtest taught three lessons that still belong in launch briefs, even though they are not versioned hotfixes.
The bag fights back, and rough handling makes it worse. That is store copy, confirmed by testers, and documented on the body bag page. It will not appear here as “v1.3: bag AI +15%” because nobody published that number.
Unstable paths collapse. One mistake can delete the structure. Cranes and platforms exist so you can gain height without stacking a death monument. Destructible walls cut time and also cut floor. Builders should live in the building guide.
The Plunger Gun climbs, yanks cargo, and rescues people who already left the ledge. Testers who treated it as a joke item spent the session as spectators. The Plunger Gun guide and controls page are the launch-week version of that note.
Those lessons feed the September 10 client the same way a beta feeds a 1.0: as player knowledge, not as a guarantee the live tuning matches the last invite build. If Steam news later lists bag, building, or plunger changes, they will get their own dated section on this page. Until that post exists, do not cite this wiki as proof of a stealth nerf.
What we expect to track after September 10
Once the store unlocks, this page becomes a running log. Likely categories, if the studio uses them:
- Stability and connectivity for 1–4 player online sessions.
- Physics and collision issues around bags, beams, and cranes.
- Progression or level-select changes now that Level 2 has been shown in test.
- Localization fixes across the 15 Steam languages.
- Steam Achievement wording, because Achievements are already listed as a store feature.
None of those rows exist yet. Writing them now would be fiction. Bookmark this page, the Updates Hub, and the Steam news hub from the links list. Pair the first live session with Getting Started and the launch checklist so you are not patch-hunting instead of playing.
Hardware complaints should hit system requirements first. A GTX 1050 Ti minimum and an RTX 3060 recommended build will not be “fixed” by a patch note if the box never met spec.
How to read a future Steam post
When a real article lands, this page will keep the studio’s name for the update in the heading. If they call it a hotfix, it is a hotfix. If they call it Playtest leftover notes, we will say that. We will not relabel it as Season 1 to make the table look busy.
Cross-check any claim against the live client. If a note says the bag is calmer and your crew still gets punched off a girder, the note is still the official text; your clip is a data point, not a new version number. File that gap in Steam discussions, not as a wiki heading.
Family Sharing and Achievements are store features today. If a post ever suspends Sharing or resets Achievements, that belongs here immediately because it changes how people gift the game. Until such a post exists, those features remain as listed.
The honest pre-launch changelog is one line long: Playtest 1.3 brought Level 2 on August 14, 2026, and the studio has not published another named patch. Everything else is preparation. Read the playtest recap for how the bag, the scaffolding, and the plunger actually punished people, then wait for Steam news before you let anyone in chat invent a version number for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What is the latest named Shady Job update?
**Playtest 1.3** on August 14, 2026, which added **Level 2**. Playtests then ended on August 31. No later named patch has been posted. See the playtest recap for wave history.
Will this page invent patch numbers?
No. After September 10, entries will cite Steam news. Undocumented Steam builds will be noted as unpublished, not dressed up as 1.0.x IDs.
Where will day-one notes come from?
The Steam news hub for Shady Job, collected on the links page, plus studio posts on [@GAZE_IN_GAMES](https://x.com/GAZE_IN_GAMES) as pointers, not as a substitute source.
Did Playtest 1.3 list bug fixes?
Public posts named Level 2. They did not publish a bullet changelog. This wiki will not fabricate one. Mechanical lessons sit in the body bag, building, and Plunger Gun guides.
Should I wait for a day-one patch before playing?
There is no announced day-one patch. If you meet system requirements and have a squad, use the launch checklist on September 10. Check this page after you boot, not instead of booting.
Are HELLMART patches relevant here?
No. HELLMART is another GAZE IN GAMES title. Its Steam notes and scores do not transfer to Shady Job. This changelog only tracks app 4190710.
