Shady Job Site Hazards
Ice, electric floors, falls, collapsing bridges — stop, detour, then rescue.
Shady Job’s unfinished skyscraper is not a climbing gym with a joke bag. Steam tells you to beware traps and hazardous environments. Press shots and official art fill in what that warning looks like: ice thick enough to freeze a teammate solid, electric floors Automaton called out from store screenshots, deadly drops under unstable bridges, and Punchy Bag ready to shove you into all of it. This page is the survival brief. It is not a damage table, a trap bestiary, or a first-aid rotation.
The Steam launch is September 10, 2026. Playtests ended August 31, 2026. If you still need the grab-build-climb-bury loop, start at Getting Started. Bag personality is on body bag. Rescue technique is on the Plunger Gun page. Party order for a fall is on co-op; the friend-facing setup is how to play with friends. Screenshot clutter that is not a named hazard sits on items.
Ice freeze
One official shot froze a teammate solid. The nametag in that art reads Valentine. Treat ice as a stop, not as a slide you farm for speed.
- Do not walk Punchy Bag onto ice to “slow it down.” The bag struggles, escapes, breaks structures, and pushes people off ledges. A frozen carrier plus a thrashing cargo is two failures, not a clever pin.
- Do not Pull a falling teammate through ice because the line is shorter. Plunger overlays prompt SHOOT, PULL / RELEASE, and DROP. Pull them to a dry lip. Drop the cup if it is stuck to a doomed plank.
- Path-first on ice. The walkthrough and strategy tiers already rank a hazard veto as the default. Builder stops placing. Carrier plants.
- Call ice with a floor number. Official shots paint 13 on a wall. “Slippery over there” is not a call.
This page will not invent a thaw timer, a salt item, or a sandwich-as-heater trick. HUD slot 1 in official art can show a SANDWICH. That is loadout chrome, not a documented ice counter. Effects are still being catalogued pre-launch; see items and controls.
Electric floors
Automaton reported electric floors in official screenshots. Steam’s hazardous-environment line is the store language. The press shot is why you should believe a slab can bite.
- Stop. Scout. Break a wall or take a crane around rather than laying a vanity span into a glowing floor. Collapse rules sit on building.
- Do not assume a metal-looking plank is safer. Do not assume a toilet or barrel “grounds” the current. Those props are ramps and chocks, catalogued as physics objects on items, not as electrical gear.
- Do not park Punchy Bag on a live patch as a timeout. Rough handling already makes the cargo more aggressive. Adding a shock is not a documented calm-down.
- If someone is already on a live floor, one plunger line to a dark slab. Everyone else holds the last numbered floor.
Fire extinguishers appear in the same Automaton screenshot notes as electric floors. This wiki will not write “spray the tiles” as a tactic. If a live prompt names a use, believe that prompt. Until then, the extinguisher is a seen object, not a puzzle solution.
Falls and ledge shoves
Falls are the default failure, not a rare cutscene. Unfinished floors, collapsing bridges, plunger lines that pull people into space, and Punchy Bag shoves will all send someone down.
Rescue order — repeat until it is boring:
- Call Down with a name and a side of the building. Floor 13, statue side, crane side: landmarks from official art, not side quests.
- Pin the bag. An escaped Punchy Bag plus a dangling teammate is how you lose both. Handling is on body bag.
- One Plunger Gun on the person. Shoot, Pull them to a lip, Release if the line peels the scaffold, Drop when they can stand.
- Builders wait. Extra blocks on a stressed span while someone hangs is how the whole structure goes. See building.
- Walk, then work. Ice can freeze the rescued player. Electric can still sit under their feet.
Solo players still need the plunger prompts. Steam does not list local split-screen, so there is no couch partner on the same PC to catch you. Seat planning for two to four is on the squad planner and roles.
Collapsing bridges
Steam says you create unstable bridges over deadly drops, and that one mistake can destroy the entire structure. That sentence is a hazard warning, not a dare.
- Place, test without cargo, then walk Punchy Bag. Bag-first onto a live placement is how a shove deletes the floor.
- Short spans. Hero cantilevers are highlight reels and wipes.
- Assume the bag is a load that breaks structures. A bridge that held three workers may not hold three workers plus angry cargo.
- When a piece goes, get people and bag onto the last painted number. Rebuild from that slab. Do not catch a falling span with more blocks.
Traps sit in the same Steam sentence as hazardous environments. Public materials do not publish a trap bestiary. If a floor looks wrong, it is wrong. Builder stops. Carrier stops. Plunger puts a cup on a wall that still exists. Do not invent pressure plates, tripwires, or laser grids this wiki has not seen. If a live overlay names a trap, add that word to the call and keep moving.
First aid kits and fire extinguishers, as seen
Automaton reported first aid kits and fire extinguishers in official screenshots. Catalog them the same way this wiki catalogs a sandwich and an industrial fan: observed, unlabeled, no stats.
- They are site objects in press art, not confirmed hotbar rows. HUD shots we can read show slots 1 and 2 with a SANDWICH and an INDUSTRIAL FAN, plus a green bar bottom-left. That chrome is on controls.
- Do not write a heal rotation. Do not write a fire-douse rotation. Do not assume the green bar is health just because a first aid kit exists in a screenshot.
- If the live game puts a prompt on either object, that prompt is the law. Until then they are clutter you can carry or ignore, same as a toilet, and they belong on the items list beside those props.
How a crew should call a hazard
Use the four party words from co-op: Bag, Path, Line, Down. Add the hazard and a floor.
- “Ice, 13, statue side” is a call.
- “Electric, wait” is a call.
- “Trap, do not place” is a call even if you cannot name the mechanism.
- “Kit” or “extinguisher” is only a call if someone is picking one up so the rest of the crew knows a pair of hands is busy.
A four-stack can put hazard veto on the floater. A duo folds that job into the non-carrier. After September 10, 2026, if a patch notes post names a new floor hazard, add it to the call list. Do not add it from a streamer’s overlay.
The site will keep finding ways to dump you into the skyline. Your job is smaller than a full bestiary: stop on ice, detour electric, pin Punchy Bag before a rescue, and refuse to turn a first aid kit in a press shot into a fake stat. That is the whole hazard manual until a prompt on the tower says otherwise.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Can ice freeze a teammate in Shady Job?
Official art froze a worker solid; the nametag reads Valentine. Treat ice as a stop. Do not Pull a rescue through it. Route language is in the walkthrough.
Are electric floors confirmed?
Automaton reported electric floors in official screenshots. Stop, scout, and detour with cranes or wall breaks. Collapse caution is on building.
Someone fell. What is the rescue order?
Pin Punchy Bag, send one Plunger Gun line, and keep builders off the stressed span. Party order is on co-op.
Do first aid kits or fire extinguishers heal or douse hazards?
Automaton saw both in official screenshots. This wiki will not invent effects. Catalog them with other props on items.
Should we park Punchy Bag on ice or electric to control it?
No. The bag struggles, breaks structures, and gets meaner if handled roughly. Parking it on a hazard is not a documented calm-down. Handling is on body bag.
Who calls hazards in a four-stack?
The floater can hold veto; a duo folds it into the non-carrier. Lock seats on the squad planner and roles page.
