Shady Job Languages
Fifteen Steam interface rows. First five named here. English audio. Wiki is en/fr/de/es.
Steam lists 15 interface languages for Shady Job. This page records what the store table actually showed in public, what press added, and what this wiki covers. It will not guess the remaining language names from memory, and it will not invent voice-over casts, dub credits, or a full 15-row chart copied from a screenshot we are not looking at while writing.
The Steam launch is September 10, 2026. Playtests ended August 31, 2026. Calendar and platform blanks sit on the release date page. Official store and studio URLs sit on links. If the live language table changes after unlock, that belongs in patch notes with a Steam news source.
What the store showed first
The languages block on the Steam page is a table, not a marketing slogan. The first five interface rows shown are:
- English
- French
- Italian
- German
- Spanish (Spain)
Steam’s own count for the full interface list is 15. This article names those first five and then stops. The other rows exist on the store. They are not named here, because filling them from habit is how wikis publish a language the page never listed.
Open Shady Job on Steam (app 4190710) if you need the complete fifteen. Trust that table over a wiki paragraph. If a friend asks “is language X supported?” and it is not one of the five above, send them the store, not a guessed list.
Japanese UI, as reported
Automaton covered the July 9, 2026 announcement and reported Japanese UI on the Steam page. That is a press observation of interface support, not a studio audio announcement and not this wiki inventing a row.
What that report does not let us write:
- That Japanese is full audio.
- That Japanese subtitles are confirmed in the same cells we saw for English.
- A numbered slot for Japanese among the unnamed interface rows.
If you play with the client in Japanese, believe the in-game language menu. If you need it in writing from this wiki, the honest line is still Automaton’s UI report plus the store’s count of fifteen interface languages.
Audio versus subtitles (rows we saw)
The store table we saw marks language support in three columns: interface, full audio, and subtitles. For the named rows:
- English: interface + full audio + subtitles.
- French: interface + subtitles.
- Italian: interface + subtitles.
- German: interface + subtitles.
- Spanish (Spain): interface + subtitles.
English is the only full-audio row in that set. French, Italian, German, and Spanish (Spain) are interface and subtitle rows in the same table. This wiki will not fill audio or subtitle checkboxes for the unnamed interface languages, and it will not claim a Japanese dub.
Practical translation for a crew:
- If everyone wants spoken English, set the client to English audio (the only full-audio row we can cite) and pick whatever interface the player can read.
- If a player needs French, German, or Spanish menus, they still hear English voice under the table we saw, with subtitles in that interface language.
- Italian is on the Steam table and not on this wiki. An Italian-interface player can still use the English, French, German, or Spanish wiki pages, or skip the wiki and stay on the store.
Do not assume a friend “has no subtitles” because they picked English. English includes subtitles in the table we saw. Do not assume a friend “has a dub” because they picked French. They have interface and subs.
What this wiki covers
shadyjob.wiki ships four locales:
- en — English, root URLs (
/guides/,/updates/languages/). - fr — French,
/fr/prefix. - de — German,
/de/prefix. - es — Spanish,
/es/prefix.
That is a wiki decision, not a claim that Steam only supports four languages. Steam’s interface count is fifteen. The wiki’s article count is four. Italian is a store interface row without a matching wiki tree. Spanish on this wiki is es; the store’s first Spanish row is Spanish (Spain). This page will not invent a separate Latin American wiki, and it will not pretend the es pages are a studio localization of the game client.
Legal pages (/terms/, /privacy/, /cookies/) stay English-only. Language switching on those URLs should not dump a friend onto a 404. Content pages localize. That split is a site rule, not a Steam rule.
If you are writing callouts for a mixed-language play with friends session, pick one spoken call set (Bag, Path, Line, Down) even if HUD languages differ. Punchy Bag does not wait for someone to translate “ice” three ways on a plank. Party structure is on co-op. Day-one setup is on Getting Started.
What language support is not
It is not a promise of full dubs in fourteen languages. It is not a review of translation quality. It is not a reason to skip system requirements because “text is small on Deck” — Steam Deck compatibility is Unknown, and this page will not smuggle a handheld verdict into a language article.
It is also not a playtest leftover. Testers used whatever UI the invite build shipped. Playtest invite rules (random Steam invites, plus-three friends with 30+ days on the list) are historical and live on the playtest recap. They do not change which Steam language rows exist.
Wishlist the store from the links hub so the language table is in your library view on September 10. Tick launch checklist items that are actually chores — specs, voice, roles — after you have set the client language you can read. The Updates Hub is the rest of the launch desk.
If a friend forwards a screenshot that adds a sixteenth language or a new dub checkbox, compare it to the live Steam table before you rewrite this page. Studio socials can flag that a post exists; @GAZE_IN_GAMES is worth a follow. The language source is still the store grid, not a cropped image in group chat.
Keep this article boring on purpose. Fifteen interface languages, five names we will print, one Automaton UI report, English full audio, four wiki locales. That is the whole briefing. The remaining store rows are one click away on Steam, and they do not need a wiki to invent their names.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many languages does Shady Job list on Steam?
**Fifteen** interface languages. This page names the first five shown (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain)) and does not guess the rest. Open the [store page](https://store.steampowered.com/app/4190710/Shady_job/) for the full table.
Which language has full audio?
In the table we saw, **English** is interface + full audio + subtitles. French, Italian, German, and Spanish (Spain) are interface + subtitles. This wiki will not invent dubs for unnamed rows.
Does Shady Job have Japanese support?
Automaton reported **Japanese UI** at announcement. That is a press UI note, not a full-audio claim. Check the live Steam table for the current interface list.
Which languages does this wiki cover?
English, French, German, and Spanish (`en`, `fr`, `de`, `es`). Italian is on Steam and not on this wiki. Legal pages stay English. See Getting Started for the rest of day-one setup.
Can a mixed-language crew still play together?
Yes. Online co-op does not require matching HUD languages. Agree on spoken callouts. Friend setup is on how to play with friends.
Will language support change after September 10?
If Steam news names a language change, it will be logged on patch notes. Until then, trust the live store table, not a guessed list.
